Karl Tillman & Donnie Thompson Squat Tip
I like this video and here's why - most people don't focus on OUTWARDLY ROTATING THE HIPS as they squat. Because they don't actively engage the glutes in this manner, they aren't generating nearly as much tension as they could be. I really like Karl Tillman's tip here and I think it's an easy way to get a feel for this outward hip rotation.

I have been forgetting to do that a lot lately - especially when doing a good number of reps and sets. I'll keep this in mind for when I squat tomorrow. Thanks for posting.
It's an easy one to forget, but it's pretty crucial when the weights get heavy. Thank YOU for posting.
Thank goodness I've been doing it right... lol.. I was having a hard time breaking the hips first, like some of the other equipped squats I've seen... but now I'm going to keep on doing it knees first..
Hey Boris.. I hope you had a good turkey day.. besides missing Grandpas record again..
Next year man.. next year..
Hey Bob!
Actually, I break at the hip first, but I really like the cue and think that it is probably what some people need to keep things tight. The only thing I'd worry about is novice squatters who might bow the knees outward too much.
How's your training coming along? I always enjoyed reading your training logs - are you keeping one online anywhere?
