The "hips back" cue is a great one for squatting, but not necessarily if you squat with a high-bar position. May be commonsense, but I hope it's helpful to some. Any comments would be appreciated.
Boris. If utilizing the box squat to get the sit-back technique, would the correct placement always be the low-bar position? My thinking was to always drive the hips back to keep the bar in vertical plane. Thank You. Tom
I have had trouble getting the feel of "sitting back." But someone told me to make sure to start the hips going back before allowing the knees to start bending. That helped a lot.
Boris, At some point you replied to my thread on T-nation regarding squat form suggesting I take a video. I finally got the videos of me squatting and would like to have you take a look at it (I noticed you haven't visited t-nation in a while). Thanks again for SquatRx videos. That tip alone is worth a lot. Thank you Boris.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom.

ReplyDeleteIf you are sitting back, yes, I would use the low bar position.

ReplyDeleteThank you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your site when I was sitting back during high bars and had a sharp pain in my lower back.
Is there a post for front squats?
This site is invaluable.
