5:00 of 70lb Kettlebell Snatches

Tonight's training - left me quite gassed.

  1. Actually the best snatch out of you I've ever seen.
In my opinion (and I've seen your very flexible shoulder live in Tokyo), your shoulder advantage and lower body hip snap have finally connected (or coordinated).

Your music selection is kind of like a mixture between nostalgy and trivia quiz these days. Heard of word 懐(なつ)メロ?

  2. Thank Taikei - keep trying to improve my technique. I'm going to see Catherine Imes this weekend (a girevoy sport US champ) and look forward to what I can learn.

I haven't heard of natsumero, but that's a pretty cool word - natsukashii + melody, right?

  3. So here's another GS competitor.
Are you going to St.Louis to meet her?

  4. Boris,

Pretty smooth set. I think CImes will be able to help you a bit with the small details.

  5. Thanks Paul!

Thanks Shaf. It was a tougher adjustment than I thought it would be to use competition kettlebells - they felt light in the hand because of the smaller handles, but chewed up my hands more. Anyway, I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun to talk to kettlebell/S&C people.

    Taikei,
Yes, I got an invite from Douglas Sides and ended up going to the workshop yesterday in St. Louis (Des Panes, actually). Lot of fun. Very good people.
I enjoy instructing and will always be a teacher and coach, but I need a competitive outlet of some sort and hopefully, I can be acceptable at GS, but we'll see...
